Art Pottery Lidded Bowl by Florida Master Potter

Vince Sansone
US$78.00
Item number: PYH 5645

This fascinating art pottery lidded bowl was created by Vince Sansone (1942-), a professional potter for over 50 years. He has been a member of the Crealdé School of Art faculty in Winter Park, Florida, since the 1970's, where he has been the longstanding Ceramics Studio and Program Manager there. We've included a photo of him and there is more of his bio below.

This beautiful art pottery piece has a wonderful beachy vibe. The glazes remind us of the deep blue sea and there are three seashells molded on the lid. It's hand signed "Sansone" on the bottom, impressed in the gritty, sand-like clay. Measuring 4 1/2 inches tall to the top of the knop on the lid, and 5 1/4 inches in diameter, it sits on a 2 1/2 inch wide base and weighs 1 1/4 pounds. The lid has a flange that allows it to sit snugly in the rim of the bowl. It's in like-new condition, with a few tiny, scattered glaze pops and no cracks, chips or other damage. It's an exceptional piece of art pottery by a master potter.
